IMP offers a full line of Electroluminescent
(EL) lamp driver integrated circuits. The four EL lamp-driving
functions are integrated on chip. These are the switch-mode
power supply, its high-frequency oscillator, the high-voltage
H-bridge lamp driver and its low-frequency oscillator. The IMP522
dual EL lamp driver allows two EL lamps to be driven independently.
Either or both EL lamp driver outputs are activated with a Lamp
Select pin. Drive voltage is 220 Vpeak-to-peak. |

The IMP527 operates from a single 1.5V battery
cell and develops a 180V peak-to-peak output voltage for driving
EL lamps to maximum brightness. The IMP527 also has a shutdown
mode where supply current is reduced to 1 microampere typically.
The IMP528 features a 220 V peak-to-peak output voltage for
driving EL lamps to maximum brightness. The 220 volt AC peak-to-peak
drive signal is developed from a 2.0 volt to 6.5 volt DC input
voltage. For EL lamps commonly used in battery powered handheld
communication and computing devices, the IMP528 output will
be held constant by an internal regulator, maximizing brightness
over the full battery life. This is an important benefit in
battery operated applications. The IMP560 has the same pin-out
as the IMP803, but output drive voltage is limited to 120V peak-to-peak,
reducing inductor current by typically 50%. For small EL lamps
or applications with moderate ambient light levels, the IMP560
offers significant power savings. The IMP525 operates at voltages
as low as 0.9V. It is ideal for single-cell battery applications.
The IMP803 is designed as a direct replacement for the Supertex
HV803. Two application notes AN-1 and AN-4 are available to
assist you in designs. (http://www.ds-imp.com.cn/application.html)
EL driver package options include the 8-pin SO and 8/10-pin
MicroSO. |
